What are cookies?

A cookie is a small data or text file that is placed on your computer by a website or application as soon as you visit a website and accept the tracking request. The request is mandatory. These cookies have different purposes: for example, there are technical cookies (these store your language settings, for example), session cookies (cookies that expire after one session and disappear afterward) and tracking cookies (these are cookies that try to provide you with a better user experience by tracking and tracing your behavior on the Internet).

On 13 June 2005, the Belgian Electronic Communications Act included certain provisions on cookies and the use of cookies on websites. This law is based on the European e-Privacy Directive, as a result of which the legislation concerning cookies can be applied in different ways in the various European Member States. Since Noble Timber is located in Belgium, Noble Timber follows the Belgian legislation on cookies.

What is the purpose and usefulness of cookies?

Noble Timber is very concerned about the rights of its visitors and therefore wants to inform every visitor to the webshop as well as possible about its rights under Belgian cookie legislation and about the cookies used by Noble Timber. By using our webshop, visitors automatically agree to the use of cookies. With these cookies Noble Timber tries to optimize your visit to the webshop, to remember technical choices (e.g. choice of language, newsletter, etc.) and to show you more relevant services and offers.
If you wish to use the Noble Timber webshop, we recommend that you enable the technical settings for cookies. If you do not enable these cookies, Noble Timber cannot guarantee that your website visit will go smoothly. If you still do not trust our cookies, you can also switch them off as a visitor without any problems.

We opt to use cookies to optimize your visit to our webshop. We guarantee you that the cookies we use are safe. The data and data collected by Noble Timber through the use of cookies enable us to display possible errors or to show you some services that we think you may find important.

What cookies does Noble Timber use?

You can easily distinguish the types of cookies, as they depend on their purpose:

  • Essential/ Strictly necessary cookies:

These cookies are used to enable the webshop to function optimally and since they are essential for the proper functioning of the webshop, they cannot be disabled in our systems. The cookies are usually only set in response to actions by you, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling out forms. These cookies are necessary for optimal communication and facilitate navigation (e.g. returning to a previous page, etc.).

  • Non-essential cookies:

By using these cookies, the functionality of your webshop is improved and personalized, but they are not necessary to run the webshop.

- Functional cookies:
These cookies are set by us or external providers (whose services we have added to our pages) so that the webshop can offer personalized and improved functionality.

- Analytical cookies:

These cookies keep track of visits and traffic, so we can measure the performance of the webshop and improve it afterward. This way we know which pages are the most popular and how a visitor moves through the webshop.

- Targeting/advertising cookies:

Advertising partners can set these cookies via our webshop. The partners can then use the information collected to determine your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other websites. Noble Timber uses its own cookies, but also those of some carefully selected partners with whom we work, to advertise our services on their websites.
